Never Stop The Action
A supernova in a single New York City subway carriage, NEVER STOP THE ACTION is a kaleidoscopic journey through time and space. We begin our trip in The Bronx, catching a 5am D train with our guides TESHI and CASEY, two old friends recently reunited at an all night dance party. On their long subway ride through the awakening metropolis, our two merry pilgrims share stories to pass the time. These stories launch us out of the train; from village romances in the mountains of Spain, to an ’80s Berlin music studio, to Nicaragua, to Ireland, to Japan, with surreal swerves into imagined universes. Their tales focus on singularities; unique moments in time, paths taken that forever change lives, social flash points, points of no return. As they get closer to their destination, they find themselves sharing deeply personal stories neither has ever said aloud.
Borrowing big cosmic ideas from physics and the experimental run and gun cinematic aesthetics of New Wave cinema, NEVER STOP THE ACTION is a true hybrid film, combining elements of science fiction, comedy, travelogue, essay film and documentary in its storytelling. It is a rolodex of locations and characters, all connected on interweaving timelines by our two charismatic and witty storytellers, whose screwball chit-chat takes us from hilarity to heartbreak and back again. And just like time and space, by the end of the train ride they, too, have changed forever. NEVER STOP THE ACTION received its world premiere at the Dublin International Film Festival in 2025.
